We’re really proud to be shortlisted for Best Internal Communications Campaign of the Year for Skyrise’s ‘Respect in Action’ initiative. Recent UK legislation places a clearer expectation on employers to take proactive steps to prevent sexual harassment, rather than acting after something has happened. We knew that updating a policy on its own wouldn’t be enough.
For Skyrise, the priority was raising awareness, building a shared understanding of what sexual harassment can look like in practice, including behaviours that are often minimised or misunderstood and recognising that this is something we’re all continually learning about together.
From the outset, this was designed for everyone at Skyrise, across every level of the business, with all team members taking part in scenario-based training and bystander intervention. We created space for open, honest conversations, helping people feel more confident recognising and responding early. Alongside this, we supported the work with consistent, accessible internal communications – from Culture Hub content and regular reminders to informal Coffee & Conversations sessions so the message stays clear, inclusive and easy to keep coming back to over time. We recognise that people learn differently, so we’ve taken a people-first approach, using a range of formats to make content accessible and practical. We’ve committed to continuing to revisit and evolve the initiative as we learn what works best for our team.
Practical tools like our 5Ds framework and Third-Party & Event Safety Action Plan bring this to life in real situations. Shaped by our cross-business Anti-Sexual Harassment Working Group and reinforced through ongoing dialogue, the initiative reflects our belief that prevention should be visible, shared and embedded in everyday working life not something confined to a policy document.
