Shortlisted for the Remote Working Initiative of the Year category
Flexibility is vital, it empowers colleagues to be autonomous, and supports their life beyond the workplace. 2023 marked the beginning of our International Working Benefit – a unique initiative that empowers our team to travel and work outside the UK for up to two months per year.
Before introducing the initiative, many of our colleagues were using their annual leave to visit family and celebrate religious holidays. Today, the benefit empowers the business to be significantly more inclusive, flexible and supportive.
Sam Vardon, Junior People Advisor at durhamlane, quickly put the idea into motion, helping employees reap the rewards of this benefit, whilst complying with our data protection policy. On being shortlisted, Sam comments:

Shortlisted for the Best Onboarding Programme category
The world of B2B sales is competitive, and typical onboarding is not thorough enough to understand the nuances of B2B processes. This is why businesses often see high staff turnover rates and workplace dissatisfaction – ultimately resulting in service delivery issues.
Instead, our Selling at a Higher Level methodology sets a new standard of learning. It supports a combination of styles to ensure full understanding, with four weeks of practical work, coaching and classroom teaching alongside our most qualified sales experts, all followed by regular refresher sessions. The result? Our speed to client readiness has halved from six weeks to three, while client satisfaction and staff retention rates continue to soar.

As Becky looks to develop the programme and make it recognisable to the wider sales industry, here’s what she has to say about the shortlist announcement:

As a relatively new department we are still making improvements month on month to make sure it can get better for our new starters. By using different teaching techniques, we cover all learning styles and are proud to ensure everyone is getting the learning and support they need.
