At POWWR, we believe that organisational performance and employee health go hand in hand. Being shortlisted for the UK Company Culture Awards 2026 in the “Best Health & Wellbeing Initiative” category is a testament to our commitment to building a people-first workplace – where everyone is empowered to thrive. Here’s a closer look at who we are, the work we’re being recognised for, and what this achievement means to our team and our business.

Who We Are

POWWR (www.powwr.com) is a growing and dynamic organisation with 80+ dedicated employees. Our mission is simple but powerful: to create an environment where exceptional performance flows naturally from our collective wellbeing. We operate across diverse regions, supporting remote, hybrid, and office-based teams, and prioritising inclusivity and belonging in everything we do. From our leadership to every employee, our people shape – and are shaped by – our unique culture, grounded in trust, empowerment, and authenticity.

Our Award-Nominated Work: Health & Wellbeing that Truly Makes a Difference

Too often, wellbeing programmes are little more than box-ticking exercises. At POWWR, our approach is proactive, adaptable, and tailored to support every team member’s physical, mental, and financial health.

Between October 2024 and February 2026, we launched and embedded a comprehensive Health & Wellbeing Initiative that focused on:

  • Employee-Led Flexibility: Adapting work patterns to individual needs – including support for parents, carers, and those balancing health or life challenges.
  • Holistic Benefits Suite: Enhanced health, financial, and family support options, including on-demand counselling, health screenings, and regular financial wellbeing workshops.
  • Inclusive Culture: Actively listening to employee feedback and routinely engaging all teams in shaping wellbeing priorities.
  • Data-Driven Evolution: Measuring impact with real metrics – improved work-life balance, reduced absenteeism, and greater engagement with wellbeing resources.

Key Outcomes

  • Absenteeism linked to stress and mental health fell by 20%.
  • 91% of employees now feel “valued and supported” – up 24 points from the previous year.
  • Satisfaction with flexible working reached 95%.
  • Engagement with wellbeing resources increased by 40%.
  • Staff retention improved by 15%.

But behind every statistic is a real story – of people feeling seen, empowered, and invested in.

What Being Shortlisted Means to POWWR

Being recognised by the UK Company Culture Awards is a milestone we are incredibly proud of. This isn’t just a “nice to have” – it’s an affirmation of our strategy and the inclusive, safe culture our team works so hard to create every day.

Clair Staines, POWWR Chief People Officer:
“Being shortlisted validates the decisions we make daily to put our people first. This recognition isn’t just for HR or leadership – it’s for every team member who contributes to the culture we’re building together.”

Employee Testimonial:
“It’s empowering to know our wellbeing isn’t just corporate jargon here. POWWR truly invests in us, and getting this kind of recognition proves we’re on the right track.”

Awards like this help us benchmark against the best UK businesses while sharing our progress with the world. They also motivate us to keep raising the bar – continuing to innovate and adapt our wellbeing initiatives for the future.

Being shortlisted places POWWR among leaders in company culture, reinforces our commitment to health and wellbeing, and amplifies our voice – so we can create an even bigger positive impact across the sector.

Looking Ahead

Our Health & Wellbeing Initiative is not static. As our team grows, so do our ambitions for a supportive, equitable, and high-performing workplace. Being shortlisted is just the beginning – we’re already planning the next evolution of our wellbeing programmes, including enhanced diversity and inclusion actions and even more personalised support.

We thank the UK Company Culture Awards for this recognition, congratulate our fellow finalists, and celebrate the passion and dedication of every POWWR employee.
