SmartBear, a leading provider of software development and visibility solutions, provides a portfolio of trusted capabilities that give software development teams around the world visibility into end-to-end quality, ensuring each of their software releases is better than the last. The company is on a customer-focused journey, experiencing worldwide growth both organically and through strategic acquisitions. SmartBear has acquired three companies in the last year; 10 in over five years – and is also building its own products with four launched in 2023 – all to meet customer needs. Through these efforts, SmartBear always meets customers where they are.

To simplify the customer experience, SmartBear is currently evolving its product portfolio that includes 20+ products into three primary hubs: API, Test, and Insight. These hubs integrate the company’s products into seamless growth areas so customers can unlock more value, providing the ability to accelerate innovation confidently. While using them together gives customers more access into critical, full visibility functions – rather than point tools or legacy platforms – hubs are designed with flexibility built in, so customers only have to use what they need and can grow with them.

All this innovation can’t happen without SmartBear employees working in a supportive, collaborative environment, driving it all.

SmartBear exceptional employee experiences

SmartBear is proud to be amongst those recognized in the UK Company Culture Awards in the category of Best Working Environment (Location) – for the second year in a row!

More than a decade ago, an office was opened in Bath by BugSnag, acquired by SmartBear in 2021. BugSnag’s best-in-class, full-stack stability and error monitoring technology is leveraged by leaders like Airbnb, Slack, Lyft, and 6,000+ organizations that prioritize application stability and health to continuously deliver high quality software. SmartBear has committed to BugSnag with several major product upgrades in 2023, empowering software developers to enhance customer experiences.

Over the years, BugSnag has amplified SmartBear’s growth, and the company has continued investing in the team, bringing everyone together into an expanded space in 2022 that has cultivated exceptional employee experiences while reflecting the SmartBear brand, values, and culture. The expanded space, occupying 7,000 square feet, has bolstered company culture and collaboration and includes a large boardroom, updated audio-visual equipment for new meeting rooms, game area, and a collaboration area to come together for work or fun.

SmartBear’s goal has always been to help make our technology-driven world a better place, including supporting our team holistically when at the office and out in the community with local and global initiatives. Team members love using paid volunteer leave each year to support local causes they feel passionate about. Many volunteer at Bath City Farm twice a year, participating in clearing areas for stables, planting a wildflower meadow, and digging out an area for herb gardens. Bath City Farm has become an integral part of the community, providing services and opportunities that extend beyond urban farming. Through volunteering efforts over the past few years and the donations made on the employees’ behalf by SmartBear, we are proud to contribute to this project.

At Christmas, employees run a food drive and donate the collection to local food banks that support the community. In 2023, employees also ran an internal fundraising campaign in support of breast cancer, uploading a photo of themselves wearing pink, and in return, SmartBear donated $10/person to breast cancer research.

SmartBear is proud to be delivering on several global Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals in the areas of Community, Sustainability and Diversity since the launch of the program more than two years ago. SmartBear has measured its annual greenhouse gas emissions since 2019, and through the Vista Climate Pledge, has committed to annually measure, offset, and set reduction targets for carbon emissions. The company also eliminated single-use plastics and chooses solution providers committed to sustainability. Employees truly have a sense of pride and achievement working for a company that places importance on these activities.

SmartBear’s investment in Bath has continued to drive our team’s success. The Bath office is an integral part of the SmartBear brand, mission, and culture, and the company is delighted to celebrate its recognition in the 2024 UK Company Culture Awards. Thank you to award hosts, Don’t Panic!

SmartBear is trusted by over 16 million developers, testers, and software engineers at 32,000+ organizations – including innovators like Adobe, JetBlue, FedEx, and Microsoft.
