Brightbulb help brands operate on a different level, through creative, immersive, digital design and tech. Our head office is based on the Isle of Wight, a beautiful land full of innovation and uniqueness. Our small but dynamic, award-winning team thrives on the Island’s unique atmosphere of creativity and innovation. We have 10 team members with a diverse skill set ranging from web development to design and project management, we deliver world-class digital experiences that set our clients’ brands apart.

We attended the UK company culture awards with no expectation of winning a national award. Our charity initiative, the mince pie marathon mans a lot to us but we did not know how much it would mean to the wider UK community. We were absolutely over the moon to hear our name called on the night as the winner of the UK’s best charitable / CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiative for our Mince Pie Marathon charity event.

The premise of the event is that businesses and individuals are invited to buy mince pies online, our digital leader board tracks the sales as businesses compete to be the highest. Each mince pie costs £1, sold in boxes of 6, and every penny is donated to the charity. The teams then compete to deliver all the orders in a single day, trying to be first back to the office.

Since inception, the Mince Pie Marathon has raised £23,000 towards helping families suffering with brain tumours and easing the financial stress at a particularly traumatic time for families.

Matt Jeffery, MD of Brightbulb, creator of the Mice Pie Marathon.

“Each year, memorable moments emerge from the event. Builders received mince pies atop scaffolding, residents and businesses donated pies to carers, hospitals, food banks, and the Salvation Army. Doorstep conversations with Island residents provided a welcome reprieve from the Covid gloom.”

Winning this award is not just a milestone for our team but a celebration of the collective spirit, dedication, and hard work of everyone involved—from our partners and volunteers to every single participant and supporter.

What This Award Means to Us

As a creative design and digital agency, we have always believed that our responsibilities extend beyond the business and into the heart of the community. The Mince Pie Marathon isn’t just an event; it’s a testament to our commitment to making a difference. This initiative supports a local brain tumour charity each year, helping them continue their invaluable work within our community. Winning this award acknowledges our efforts in CSR and reinforces the impact that any business, big or small, can have on improving lives.

Fostering a Culture of Giving Back

At BrightBulb, we see this achievement as a stepping stone to do even more. We believe in the power of giving back, and through our initiatives like the Mince Pie Marathon, we are committed to fostering a culture where business and community welfare go hand in hand. This award serves as a reminder of what we can accomplish when we unite for a common cause.

This recognition has infused us with renewed vigor to push the boundaries of what we can achieve in our charitable efforts. We are inspired to innovate further, not only in our design and digital solutions but in how we give back to the community. We are more motivated than ever to continue our work with local charities and expand our reach.

A Big Thank You

We cannot end this post without expressing our deepest gratitude. Thank you to the award committee for recognising our efforts and to everyone who has supported the Mince Pie Marathon. Your enthusiasm and generosity make all of this possible. We look forward to many more years of successful marathons and meaningful community engagement.

We at BrightBulb are reminded every day that our work is more than just projects and pixels—it’s about people. This award is for all of us, a beacon that shines bright, reminding us of what we can achieve together. Let’s continue to make a difference, one mince pie at a time.
